Lombardi e Visconti - Dionysus Culture Food

Lombardi e Visconti

Lombardi e Visconti was founded in 1992 as a “herbal company”, based on the belief that the area in which it operates is particularly suitable for conducting activities linked to the fascinating world of medicinal herbs. In fact, Mount Amiata is an interesting area that hosts many endemic and very particular vegetation species, as in the West it is affected by the climatic influence of the Tyrrhenian Sea, while the east side is affected by its proximity to the Apennines. Furthermore, Mount Amiata is a former volcano, so it is entirely covered by volcanic material which, over time, has given rise to spongy rock masses rich in mineral salts, suitable for the flourishing of vegetation.

All products are made only with vegetation species, and synthetic substances such as thickeners, artificial flavours, extracts, dyes and antioxidants are never used. In fact, starting from 2017, the company has been certified as “Bio” precisely to reaffirm the naturalness of its production.

The sensitivity towards the discovery and enhancement of bio diversity is based on the cultivation of ancient and often endangered species. In addition, for the development of many projects, such as for Agresto and Pera Picciola, Lombardi and Visconti has collaborated with universities, research centres and with regional bodies.
