Vinoso – A Winter Punch Inspired by Hearth, Spice, and Tradition

Vinoso is Collettivo Botanico’s homage to winter — a seasonal punch designed to evoke warmth, conviviality, and the reassuring rituals of the colder months. Rooted in Italian tradition yet interpreted with contemporary sensitivity, this distinctive creation draws inspiration from mulled wine, festive Senese desserts, and the comforting aromas that fill kitchens and hearths during wintertime. Crafted through the alcoholic maceration of grapes and aromatic herbs, Vinoso is not conceived as a simple flavoured wine, but as a layered, expressive beverage that sits between tradition and creative mixology. It is a product designed to be shared, savoured slowly, and enjoyed as part of a moment — whether gathered around a table, after a winter meal, or during an evening that calls for warmth and depth.

From Grape to Winter Ritual

At the heart of Vinoso lies the grape itself, used as a base to anchor the punch in vinous richness and gentle structure. Rather than fermenting or distilling, Collettivo Botanico chooses maceration as a means of extraction — allowing the fruit to release its character gradually, while remaining supple and rounded on the palate. To this base are added aromatic herbs traditionally associated with winter, carefully selected to recall familiar yet deeply evocative flavours. These botanicals echo those used in classic mulled wine preparations, as well as in Panforte — the historic spiced dessert from Siena — and other seasonal sweets enjoyed throughout Tuscany during colder months. The result is a product that immediately feels recognisable, yet refined: rich without being heavy, spiced without being aggressive, and aromatic without excess.

A Sensory Portrait of Winter

On the nose, Vinoso opens with enveloping aromas of warm spices, dried fruit, and citrus peel. There is an immediate sense of comfort — notes reminiscent of cinnamon, clove, nutmeg, and sweet citrus drift upward, recalling winter kitchens and festive gatherings. On the palate, the texture is smooth and warming. The grape maceration provides body and depth, while the herbal elements unfold gradually, creating a layered experience that lingers pleasantly. Sweetness is present but measured, balanced by spice and subtle bitterness, ensuring that the punch remains drinkable and elegant rather than cloying. This balance makes Vinoso particularly expressive when served warm, allowing its aromas to expand fully and its flavours to integrate harmoniously.

How to Enjoy Vinoso

Vinoso is designed first and foremost to be enjoyed hot, in keeping with its winter identity. Traditionally, it is served warm with a spoon, poured into a glass containing sultanas, almonds, grated lemon peel, and orange zest. This preparation enhances both texture and aroma, transforming the punch into a small ritual — part drink, part dessert, part comfort. Served this way, Vinoso becomes a perfect companion to cold evenings, post-dinner moments, or festive occasions where warmth and generosity are essential. Beyond its traditional use, Vinoso also lends itself remarkably well to creative cocktail applications, where its spiced, vinous profile can add depth and character. Among suggested combinations: mixed in equal parts with Campari and topped with soda, it creates a vibrant, bittersweet winter aperitif. Combined with whiskey and a few drops of bitter, it becomes darker, more contemplative, ideal for slow sipping. Paired with bourbon and Campari, it offers a structured, aromatic cocktail with warmth and complexity. These recipes highlight Vinoso’s versatility and its ability to bridge classic punch traditions with modern mixology.

A Seasonal Expression by Design

Unlike year-round liqueurs, Vinoso is intentionally seasonal. It is a product conceived for winter, both in flavour and in spirit. This seasonal approach reflects Collettivo Botanico’s philosophy: respecting the rhythms of nature and producing beverages that feel anchored to a specific time, place, and mood. By embracing seasonality, Vinoso avoids becoming generic. Instead, it becomes something to look forward to — a winter ritual that returns when the temperature drops and the days grow shorter.

Tradition Reimagined

Vinoso stands as a thoughtful reinterpretation of familiar traditions. It draws from mulled wine, spiced desserts, and historic convivial drinks, but reshapes them through careful maceration, restrained sweetness, and botanical precision. Rather than overwhelming the palate, it invites it. Rather than shouting, it warms. Every element is chosen to contribute to an overall sense of harmony — a balance between grape, herb, spice, and sweetness that feels both nostalgic and contemporary.

A Drink to Share

Ultimately, Vinoso is about togetherness. It is a drink meant to be poured generously, enjoyed slowly, and shared among friends and family. Whether served hot in its traditional form or explored through cocktails, it brings with it the atmosphere of winter gatherings and the quiet pleasure of warmth on a cold evening. With Vinoso, Collettivo Botanico captures not just flavour, but feeling — distilling the essence of winter into a bottle that invites pause, comfort, and connection.
